Overview

Stunning Nomadic Villages (3 Days)

Zagros mountain range is the second-highest range of mountains in Iran which presents a natural barrier for Bakhtiari nomads on their seasonal migration between their winter and summer settlements in Khuzestan and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari in Isfahan provinces.

Many of the nomads seasonally settle inside the foothills of this giant. Their tents can be found scattered all around the Poshtkuh area. The area is also famous for some of the most beautiful villages in Iran that nomads from the past decided to permanently settle in.

In this Isfahan tour, you will see a little bit of everything in the Poshtkuh area. You will visit nomads and sleep in their tent to witness traditional Bakhtiari way of life. In addition, you will visit the museum and Eco center Khuye to see how a group of enthusiasts run a sustainable tourism project of preserving the nomadic tradition. Hike in the amazing nature or drive to pass the waterfall and salt mine to get to the picturesque village of Sar Agha Seyed.

Excellent service and support Excellent Service ! i am surprised by the reactivity and the will to help and find quickly hotels, flights and solutions for me, even though the holiday season makes things challenging. Chatting through whatsapp made things super smooth and extremely easy. I was interacting with two people from TAP Persia, Rojin and Sohrab. They were just amazing ! They are the ones who reached out to me directly and interacted instantly with me day and night. Great job guys !I used earlier a different company but i was disappointed, i strongly recommend TAP Persia .Keep up the great work !

Fabulous agency - can't recommend more highly for travellers to Iran I decided to go to Iran at short notice and was only able to do so thanks to the exceptional service provided by TAP Persia. What further complicated was my ignorance of being in the middle of Nowruz and the impact that has on flight availabilities etc.In the first instance, that revolved around speedy obtainment of a visa as well as other aspects such as insurance and mah card via their great-value welcome pack.Thereafter, all of my accommodation, tour guides and transport between destinations was arranged by the beyond-wonderful Mahgol with tremendous efficiency, patience and responsiveness - I could not praise nor thank her enough.Communications are as good as can be.With my lack of Farsi and, more specifically, incomprehension of the alphabet, doing things in this manner was the only way to go.All of the guides - Fatemah, Amin, Fardin, Moji, Peyman and Masoud - were fantastic being passionate, knowledgeable, smarter-than-average bears and very nice people.Rasool, Mehrnoush and Sohrab in the office were also very helpful.I would say though that, to help them (especially) to try to draft your itinerary as much as possible before approaching them as this will save time i.e. places, days in each, hotel price-range then trust them to select the latter for you.

Great Service :) TApersia accompanied us well on the way to our Iran visa. My wife's visa took 2 weeks longer than mine (German EU & I'm Swiss). Our questions were always answered quickly by the nice Mahgol via WhatsApp. We think she did her best for our visa processing. After a while, we were also asked how we were doing! Nice, support and promptness are at the highest level.

Solo Saudi female in <3 IRAN <3 10/10. It's hard for me to be succinct, but I will try. I am a Saudi who has been impressed, curious, and infatuated by Iranian culture(s), Iron Age history, Islamic & other religious histories, architecture, and geography for over 15 years. Yum, and food. I wanted initially to continue my Persian language study at Dehkhoda Institute, however student visas take much longer than other visas to process, and I would likely miss my class during the processing time. I was disheartened and scrambled through my Google bookmarks looking for old travel that I had saved over the years in my Iran folder. ;) TAP Persia was bookmarked numerous times and I quickly applied for a tourist visa. Hey, I can still practice some Persian as a tourist, right? THE PROCESS WAS SO EASY. So smooth! Mahgol deserves all the praise and recognition for bringing relief to my anxious-self (because I had already long-ago booked my airline tickets and took time off work!), and she walked me through all the steps in a timely manner and with competence and grace. Even during the first week of Norouz and Ramadan, I got a friendly update and advice -- got my tourist visa within 5 or 6 days (the Ministry was closed for Ramarouz, but WOW that was still quick). I cried from happiness and surprise... Thank you thank you. I will be in Iran April to mid-May. Originally I just registered for TAP Persia welcome package + visa help, but now I'm pretty curious about signing up for one or 2 of their tours now. I am beyond impressed and excited. This travel company, Mahgol, & this team already made me feel safe and like I'm going home, and I imagine with their business practice, will prosper for many years down the road. Thank you so much. Someone please remind me to update this post with photos once I arrive to Iran <3

Day 1

Morning

In the morning we will pick you up from your hotel in Tehran or Isfahan at 6:00 A.M and drive to Aligoudarz district to reach Absefid waterfall. We will have breakfast on the way. After a 5-hour drive, we will visit the stunning waterfall of Absefid (which means “white water” in Persian) with 70m in height.
Then, we will continue the road through Ghalikouh Mountain to Baznavid (30-minute drive) and then stop by an ancient cemetery in which there are lion statues on the graves of courageous men.

Evening

There is a 15-minute drive after Baznavid and around 2:30 P.M we will reach the family of nomads that will host us for the night. We will use our time with them to witness their daily routine of collecting wood, gathering and milking sheep, and preparing a fire for making bread. The night we sleep in the million stars hotel or inside the nomadic tent.

Day 2

Morning

Enjoy the morning in beautiful green pastures shepherding the herd. Nomads usually wake up at 6:00 A.M to go shepherding. We can accompany them to the surrounding mountains or plains until 7 A.M.
We will have breakfast at 8 A.M. Afterwards, we leave the nomadic village and continue our way through Poshtkuh protected area. We will see woodlands of oak trees.
On our way, we will stop by some off-the-beaten-track villages like Chin where some Bakhtiyari nomads have settled down. Visiting the settled nomads in old, simple village houses in a remote mountain area would be such a new experience for those who are used to living in cities.

Afternoon

Our next destination is Khoyeh village where we are going to have lunch in a typical village house with a view of imposing mountains. Khoyeh is an organic village with different fruit gardens; peach, tomato, apricot, eggplant, pepper, and also wheat. All of them are produced with no chemical fertilizer. So, here is our chance to have healthy delicious food. The evening is yours to explore the village and see the watermill. While you are going through the village, you will see women spinning thread, weaving handicrafts, milking the livestock, and men insulating the roofs with traditional methods and doing gardening.
The night we will be in a rural home-stay in the village where we are going to know more about their culture and way of life.

Day 3

Morning

This morning we have our chance to experience once-in-a-lifetime sunrise while we are standing on a balcony. Today, we will start the day’s hike from the village toward the picturesque village of Sar Aqa Seyyed, which is a stepped Village. We will pass the irrigated farms then continue through the trail of nomad’s migration. At the beginning of our hike towards the picturesque village of Sar Agha Seyed, we stop by a waterfall that fiercely comes running out of the cliffs. We will climb the mountain and walk down the other side to reach the salt mine local people have been using for centuries.

Afternoon

After lunch, we leave Sar Aqa Seyyed to go to Isfahan through Koohrang road. On our way, we visit Koohrang Waterfall, the biggest spring in Iran. In the evening, we’ll have our dinner in Shahrekord and drive back to Isfahan around 8 P.M.

very recommendable

It was an amazing trip. We have been to Iran multiple times and were looking for a new experience to spice things up. This was a trip of a lifetime. I wanted to do the full base camp tour but just didn’t have the time and obviously was worried I might not make it all the way. I joined the family of Khorshid and Aref who had 5 kids. The little one was a teengager with some slippers who hiked the mountains with a pair of slippers. I left the nomads with such a pleasure as I was waiting for a medal at the end. Best trip ever. I will be back to do the nomad tours again.

wonderful experience

Gazing at the star next to the black tent was the highlight of the trip. I love how they choose the right spot to make the tent. Everything you need is just a few stepp from the tent. The family was friendly and easygoing. They cooked homemade chicken with homemade yogurt which tasted wonderful. The price is very cheap compared to other guides. Thank you for everything!

highly recommended

The people who work for the company are top notch! The guides are professional and knowledgeable and full of good humor! I had the chance to jump into the car with Sara and go for a stay with the nomads. And exploring the Zagros regions and states with a family who couldn’t speak english was a delight. All of the sights during the excursion were interesting and breathtaking. You can touch and see the life of the rural people of Iran. Do not hesitate to contact tappersia and book the trip. If you want to have the best time in Iran. I highly recommend it.
