Full Day Astronomy Tour
We start this astronomy tour from Isfahan and it takes 30 minutes to reach the traditional guest house near a small village called Foudaz. The village’s sky has no light pollution and provides you a unique astronomy lesson. Here, let’s enjoy the sunset with a cup of tea and we present you a short introduction about basics of astronomy. This will help to understand the sky and what we will later be able to see.
When it gets dark we will also explain how astronomy can be interesting while observing the sky only with naked eyes. We will show planets and constellations with a laser pointer. Then you’ll have a brief insight into mythology, horoscope and tradition. Finally using a professional telescope to see and learn more about stars, nebula and galaxies. We will teach you how to read the sky map and then find stars yourselves because we believe that is the best way to make astronomy interesting.
With such interactional approach, you will learn the “alphabet” of astronomy and already become an amateur astronomer. After dinner, we sleep, but it’s better to wake up before sunrise. Let’s not miss observing the clear sky with telescope again. There are a lot more visible and interesting objects in the sky at this time of the night. After breakfast we would greet the morning sun. watch sunspots with solar filters. Experience how astronomy can be interesting while observing the sky during the day.
The tour is performing by Ivan and Fariba, married Croatian – Iranian couple working in consulting and development projects in tourism. Ivan moved to Iran to work on new ideas for the growing Iranian tourism market while Fariba is a professional astronomer with experience of teaching in schools and organizing public sky observations.
