Full Board Astronomy Tour
As much as we all like popular cultural and historical centers of Iran, this tour will take you far away from the big cities and show you the life of rural Iran with natural sights off the beaten path that you will hardly find listed in travel guide books. Sand dunes, colorful mountains, rocky deserts and stone formations, the hottest spot on Earth, canyons, salt rivers, underground villages and oasis villages of central Iran, these will be just some of the highlights of the best value for money tour in Iran.
Our plan is to spice up your trip to Iran with a six-day tour full of experiences that you will never forget. Of course, you can capture unforgettable landscapes and moments with your camera but we also want you to experience Iran from inside and collect new knowledge about this impressive country.
The educational components of our desert tour are theoretical and practical astronomy lessons. An introductory presentation about the basics of astronomy will be the first step into understanding the sky and what we will observe in the following days. For the whole duration of the trip, we will travel with a professional telescope and every night will be a new opportunity for sky observation.
Nothing will be mandatory so depending on weather conditions and interests of the group we will be flexible to adjust when, how intense and how often we observe the sky. Apart from the theoretical introduction, our astronomy lessons will be most practical.
When it gets dark we will explain how astronomy can be interesting while observing the sky only with naked eyes. With a laser pointer, we will show planets, constellations and give a brief insight into mythology, horoscope, and tradition before finally using a professional telescope to see and learn more about stars, nebula and galaxies.
We will teach you how to read the sky map and then find stars yourselves because we believe it is the best way to make astronomy interesting. With such interactional approach, you will learn the “alphabet” of astronomy and become an amateur astronomer who will always look forward to the next session. During day time we will also have the opportunity to use solar filters for the telescope to see the sunspots and enjoy astronomy even during the day.
