Varzaneh desert, also called Khara or Hasan Abad desert is located about 100 km out of Isfahan and It takes about an hour to get there. The best times to visit are the first parts of spring and autumn, due to the mild weather which is out of this world. Although it is worth mentioning that deserts have harsh freezing nights and you need to pack warm clothing. The international Gavkhouni Wetland provides this desert with some humidity and you should expect pleasing moist sand dunes.
You can relax while enjoying fascinating diverse views made by the wind that blows there and changes the sand dunes’ shape. You can walk on the soft sands with naked feet and let nature do its work. Another option is riding boards, you can rent a board and ride down the sand hills and if you ever got tired, there are off-road cars waiting to take and show you the beauties of this place. Some other activities you can participate in are paragliding, zip lining, bike riding and stargazing.
Photography at night is also suggested. When Varzaneh goes to sleep you will find yourself surrounded by numerous shining stars which are moving gently in the endless sky creating the perfect opportunity for photography. Only one night is enough to feel the difference between this magnificent universe and our normal routine lives.
