Tabriz Colourful Mountains ( Ala Daglar )
Our destination is “Ala Daglar” mountains located 25 km from Northeast of Tabriz, Iran. In Turkish language, Ala means colourful and daglar means mounts.This trip will take half-day, almost 2-3 hours, hiking the gentle slopes of colorful mountains. As we are on the road, you don’t know what an amazing surprise awaits you, what a wonderful nature! When suddenly the rainbows show up, you’ll be submerged in a fantastic world.
By the first look, you may imagine human painted them so carefully but as you see them more deeply, you’ll realise they’re all natural and exist on the earth.The mountains are 15 millions years old, spread in an area about 70 km. Everyone traveling there remembers them as nature’s masterpiece. Sightseeing among Ala Deldar Mountains gives you the opportunity to discover the unique eye-catching scenes with different colours, you will sit and watch them for hours without getting enough of the nature.
What adds more to this stunning allures are the lively water streams flowing through the mounts. The reflection of these picturesque landscapes over the water surface is so fascinating. The mounts colors are green, brown, red, yellow, orange and white, as some parts get copper coloured, you can take stunning, vibrant photos when the sun shines over them. The reason for seeing all these colours is simply the combination of some elements and minerals with oxygen. For example, green is sign of the copper existence after the carbonation process.
These mounts even have traditional effects. Before spring, a custom in the area is to get some colorful soils and decorate houses with them. It’s a sign that Persian new year is coming. You can travel to the Ala Daglar mountains anytime of the year. In autumns and winters, different terrains of mounts can be seen after raining or snowing.
