Rocky village of Meymand
We start our tour from Kerman and on the way to Meymand, we will have a look at the numerous Pistachio farms of Kerman. On the way to Meymand we spot the beautiful, mineral-rich mountains of the region.
The village has 350 hand-dug houses which date back to approximately 3000 years ago. However, the region has a much longer history behind it. Stone carvings from 10,000 years ago have been found in the region. When in the village, we will visit the caves, climb up the village valleys, and meet with the welcoming locals. We will spend the night in one of the many man-made caves of the village with their black ceilings and walls which is an experience unlike any other.
The homemade traditional meals will be another highlight of our journey. We also visit the largest cave of the village which is the gathering place of inhabitants and is used as the mosque of the village. A visit to the small museum of Meymand to learn about the lifestyle of the people who have lived there will be the perfect ending to our tour.
