Berkeh Restaurant, located in Sardroud ring road, Tabriz is a famous traditional restaurant.
With the help of tropical trees like banana trees, they have transformed a huge hall into a tropical forest. The word “berkeh” literally means pond in Persian. In the middle of the hall, lies a huge artificial pond full of massive fish. Parrots and canaries fly freely all over the restaurant, creating a great atmosphere by singing their enchanting songs.
Berkeh’s special Dizi is cooked with fresh lamb shanks and is served inside copper pots. Their unique warmers are pots of fire on top of big trays, designed with fresh vegetables that look magnificent and will keep your Dizi warm, while you enjoy your mouthwatering Goosht Koobideh .
We also recommend their traditional Koofteh Tabrizi (grapefruit-sized balls of mixed meat and vegetables), garnished with fried onions, barberries and special house sauce. For dessert, you should order Baghlava (baklava) along with black tea, a bittersweet way to end the adventure inside a tropical forest hall.
