Overview

Yazd, Ancient Mud City Daily Tour

Launching our plan, we move toward the Tower of Silence built on top of a hill, there was a place to eliminate Zoroastrian corpses, but how? Based on their beliefs, the dead bodies make the earth’s soil dirty so they put them in the tower where they can be eaten by rodents and birds. Then they buried the remained bones in a deep well in the middle of the tower. These towers were always built outside the cities and villages and were made out of raw adobe and plaster so that the dirt wouldn’t touch the soil. There was usually an adobe two-storey construction near these towers for religious rituals.

After passing here, let’s go to the Zoroastrian fire temple. You can see a fire in a special place where they gathered around it and prayed Avesta, Zoroastrian religious book. In the temple, a basin is placed in the area and this is actually one of the temple features to have water next to them. The main construction was built in a way to get the maximum sunlight and there are artistic stone pillars in front of it. You can see how beautifully the temple is decorated with flowers carved stones at the bottom. When you enter the building, you can see the magnificent walls with Zoroaster’s pictures and holy statements of Avesta on the walls.

Our next stop will be Dolat Abad Garden, one of the oldest gardens in the region dating back to the Afsharid and Zand dynasty. It has a history of almost 260 years and was built by the ruler of Yazd at the time. The world’s largest windcatcher, several edifices, the Qanat and Naser garden have made this garden one of the most charming gardens in Iran. The amazing architecture with colorful windows and high vaulted ceilings can take you to a fantastic world where art touches your soul. A large basin surrounded by grape, pine, cypress, weeping willow trees and different kinds of flowers like roses, eglantine, jasmine adds even more beauty to this garden(Yazd tours).

After having lunch in one of the best restaurants in Yazd, we move to the 900 year old congregational mosque, the most glorious construction with the highest minaret just in the center of the city. Like many fire temples which turned into mosques with lots of amazing designs, this blue theme mosque used to be a fire temple in Sassanid era (224 – 651 AD). We then go to a stunning adobe house roof where we can sit on wooden benches and enjoy the eye-catching sunset which has a harmony with the clear sky of Yazd. Next, let’s head to Amir Chakhmagh Square built in Safavid era. The building in the middle of this square with its several hollows and two minarets is an architectural and tiling masterpiece. Like other Persian old squares, there’s a bazaar nearby where you can go shopping for souvenirs. Finally, Zoorkhaneh (the traditional Iranian gym) is also a good place to understand more about the culture and history of Iran.

Excellent service and support Excellent Service ! i am surprised by the reactivity and the will to help and find quickly hotels, flights and solutions for me, even though the holiday season makes things challenging. Chatting through whatsapp made things super smooth and extremely easy. I was interacting with two people from TAP Persia, Rojin and Sohrab. They were just amazing ! They are the ones who reached out to me directly and interacted instantly with me day and night. Great job guys !I used earlier a different company but i was disappointed, i strongly recommend TAP Persia .Keep up the great work !

Fabulous agency - can't recommend more highly for travellers to Iran I decided to go to Iran at short notice and was only able to do so thanks to the exceptional service provided by TAP Persia. What further complicated was my ignorance of being in the middle of Nowruz and the impact that has on flight availabilities etc.In the first instance, that revolved around speedy obtainment of a visa as well as other aspects such as insurance and mah card via their great-value welcome pack.Thereafter, all of my accommodation, tour guides and transport between destinations was arranged by the beyond-wonderful Mahgol with tremendous efficiency, patience and responsiveness - I could not praise nor thank her enough.Communications are as good as can be.With my lack of Farsi and, more specifically, incomprehension of the alphabet, doing things in this manner was the only way to go.All of the guides - Fatemah, Amin, Fardin, Moji, Peyman and Masoud - were fantastic being passionate, knowledgeable, smarter-than-average bears and very nice people.Rasool, Mehrnoush and Sohrab in the office were also very helpful.I would say though that, to help them (especially) to try to draft your itinerary as much as possible before approaching them as this will save time i.e. places, days in each, hotel price-range then trust them to select the latter for you.

Great Service 🙂 TApersia accompanied us well on the way to our Iran visa. My wife's visa took 2 weeks longer than mine (German EU & I'm Swiss). Our questions were always answered quickly by the nice Mahgol via WhatsApp. We think she did her best for our visa processing. After a while, we were also asked how we were doing! Nice, support and promptness are at the highest level.

Solo Saudi female in <3 IRAN <3 10/10. It's hard for me to be succinct, but I will try. I am a Saudi who has been impressed, curious, and infatuated by Iranian culture(s), Iron Age history, Islamic & other religious histories, architecture, and geography for over 15 years. Yum, and food. I wanted initially to continue my Persian language study at Dehkhoda Institute, however student visas take much longer than other visas to process, and I would likely miss my class during the processing time. I was disheartened and scrambled through my Google bookmarks looking for old travel that I had saved over the years in my Iran folder. 😉 TAP Persia was bookmarked numerous times and I quickly applied for a tourist visa. Hey, I can still practice some Persian as a tourist, right? THE PROCESS WAS SO EASY. So smooth! Mahgol deserves all the praise and recognition for bringing relief to my anxious-self (because I had already long-ago booked my airline tickets and took time off work!), and she walked me through all the steps in a timely manner and with competence and grace. Even during the first week of Norouz and Ramadan, I got a friendly update and advice -- got my tourist visa within 5 or 6 days (the Ministry was closed for Ramarouz, but WOW that was still quick). I cried from happiness and surprise... Thank you thank you. I will be in Iran April to mid-May. Originally I just registered for TAP Persia welcome package + visa help, but now I'm pretty curious about signing up for one or 2 of their tours now. I am beyond impressed and excited. This travel company, Mahgol, & this team already made me feel safe and like I'm going home, and I imagine with their business practice, will prosper for many years down the road. Thank you so much. Someone please remind me to update this post with photos once I arrive to Iran <3

best transfer ever

Yazd is a beautiful small walled city that many recognize from its starting point, the fire temple, the garden and the old city. Well worth the side trip to Kerman, up through the careful driver and a well knowledgeable tour guide.

feels familia and so different at the same time

We had a quiet transfer and it is recommended to enjoy the sunset on the top of the hill tower silence. What an amazing place to rest and watch the sun going down. This is one of the highlights of our transfers in Iran. I hope to visit it again some day. We had a great and knowledgeable tour guide, who prepared some snacks for the way too.

Historic site

The tour took my breath away. There was so much to enjoy when we first got to the tower of silence, we hiked to the top and had some tea on top while our guide told us more about the Zorastrain history. Then we walked down, had more joy in the city and he got us to Kerman. I have to say that transferring to another city is more fun than just a flight.

Solo trip

Very interesting and unusual architecture, you should definitely see it ovne. But Yazd is not a place to visit once. Travel guides and reviews of tappersia suggested this tour. All historic sites were closed, except the Dolat Abad garden, which was the most incredible site I've seen. A garden in the desert.
